Especially people with gastric and intestinal diseases should not consume the meat of the victim immediately, after waiting for a few days in the refrigerator, preferably by boiling it and using it. People with cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hypertension should also prefer lean or low-fat meat in Eid al-Adha, since fatty meats have higher saturated fat and cholesterol content. It should consume limited amounts of meat and should not overdo it.

Have Breakfast Before Eating Victim Meat!

A light breakfast must be made on the morning of Eid al-Adha. Consumption of meat that is difficult to digest on an empty stomach can cause indigestion and pain in the stomach.

Beware of the drinks you consume!

As always, our healthiest drink is water… It facilitates our digestion and can increase our feeling of satiety. Beverages containing intense caffeine such as coffee and tea, which are indispensable for the feast treats, should be avoided as much as possible. If we cannot refuse or give up, we should try to consume open tea and low-caffeinated coffee. Preparing soft drinks, carbonated drinks and soda does not facilitate digestion – contrary to popular belief. The drinks that will best match the meat and meat eats are water and buttermilk.

Avoid Reflective Foods!

In order to protect from the common and problematic reflux, we should avoid the consumption of foods with plenty of additives, fries and fatty foods. Because they can create reflux even in people who have never had reflux or illness before. Individuals with prior reflux disease should definitely continue using acid-reducing medications recommended by their doctor.

Do not eat until you are full of treats!

One of the most important feast treats is traditional sherbet desserts such as baklava, revani, kadayıf, tulumba dessert. And when meat is added to it, the catering plate is filled with foods that are extremely difficult to digest. These foods, which are very high in carbohydrates and fats, and undoubtedly their indispensable taste, will result in both serious weight gain and increased reflux and indigestion complaints as a result of the abundant consumption of each guest. For this reason, we should take care that the amount we consume in 4-5 different visits does not exceed one serving.

Give Weight to Oven and Cookware!

Meats and desserts eaten in treats should not cause irregular feeding or skipping meals. We should not disrupt our 3 main meals daily. Our cooking method should also be in the form of cooking pots or oven dishes, using vegetables and meat using their own juice and a small amount of oil. We should not prefer frying and grilling.

Turn Holidays Visits into Exercise!

We must keep each visit as long as possible, and eat refreshments slowly and in moderation. In order to consume at least some of the calories we take, we should prefer to walk as much as possible. This small walking exercise also regulates our bowel system and facilitates our digestion.

Which Foods Should I Consume?

Glycemic index; It is the effect that carbohydrates have on blood sugar. Carbohydrates, which mix into the blood faster and increase blood sugar, have a high glycemic index. The lower the glycemic index, the longer the food consumed will mix with the blood and increase the level of sugar in the blood. They also do not tire our digestive system. For this reason, we should frequently include foods such as legumes, bulgur, noodle, vegetables, milk and yogurt with low glycemic index in our main meals.

Pay Attention to the Post-Sleep Sleep Pattern!

When we visit and get tired all day long, we may need to go to bed immediately after dinner. Therefore, after dinner, 2-2. We should not lie down in 5 hours, if necessary, spend some time in a comfortable seat. Otherwise, night reflux will be inevitable.

Do Not Confuse Indigestion With Heart Disease!

After a fast meal and a heavy meal, it becomes difficult to grind foods in the stomach and stomach emptying slows down. In this case, the feeling of fullness and pressure just behind the chest can result in pinching pain or spasm and may be considered by a heart attack and cause emergency polyclinic applications. Whereas, your complaints caused by indigestion will regress with light exercise that will be provided with a little walking, while a pain caused by heart will increase with effort. Therefore, don’t panic right away.
